Some days back I had been write about Yahoo Messenger for Mac. That post was about Yahoo Im for Mac 3.0 beta. These days Yahoo had been working really good to improve there instant messenger for various operating systems and mobile phones. Some days back Yahoo also released some updates for Yahoo Im for Iphone. Those updates were really impressive for Iphone users.

Today i am going to write some updates about Yahoo messenger for Mac operating system according to Yahoo Messenger Blog.

Yahoo has been improve Yahoo instant messenger for Mac. They had been added a new feature called “Report a Problem”.

This latest version also includes a “Report a Problem” feature to make it easier for Mac users to report technical issues they’re experiencing. To access it, click on the Help menu and select “Report a Problem to Yahoo.”

From there you can select the feature area that relates to your issue (sign in, messaging, webcam etc.), and then describe the problem you’re having.

Now i can say mac machine user will have right fun of Yahoo chat and also they can support Yahoo team in building a great instant messenger for Mac machine.

Yahoo  we all know huge and successful website for chat. Billions of people around the world use Yahoo for chat. For chat we use Yahoo Messenger. Its an nice instant messenger but as for as i know about it. Yahoo Messenger have quality but low protection against spam, booter, voice, hacker and crackers  in Yahoo chat room. Yahoo messenger works well but you would not feel fully protect in chat room with yahoo messenger.

As for as i believe when you use instant messaging chat called PM chat. You need yahoo messenger but for room chat you need an strong chat client. Today i am going to write about why i like 3rd party Yahoo chat client. So here we go.

I really like 3rd party chat client for yahoo chat. I have Yahelite, ysupra, yazak and much more. I had been using these chat client since 3 years in Yahoo chat rooms. Why ? here is why i use.

Protection In Yahoo Chat Rooms.

As for as we all know about Yahoo chat. Many of people use Yahoo chat. If billions of people use it at a time then you can say in those billions many are spammer, booter’s, hacker and crackers. So you need protection from them. For your kind protection you need a good Yahoo chat client which can protect you from these kind of problems. 3rd party Yahoo chat client works better then yahoo messenger for these kind of problem. You can choose anyone from them and use it once you will feel much better in Yahoo chat rooms.

Voice  problem In Yahoo Chat Rooms.

Yahoo is an most famous chat provider because they have voice chat. I really love to have voice chat. Voice chat is better to be typo. You can stuck in typing but you can’t stuck while you talk someone. In Yahoo rooms many of buddy use mic locker, Mass Iggy and many voice domination tools. These kind of software ban Yahoo chat room voice, block your voice, ignore your, voice bots and much more. In this matter you will feel voice chat problem. Because yahoo messenger didn’t dominate a strong mic locker and even you can’t get point against any mic locker or voice domination tool. User Friendly Interface.

Yahoo messenger is an use friendly chat application but some time it can hang are system and many of virus can damage yahoo messenger easily. It these cause yahoo messenger doesn’t works well and user friendly. you will have problem when you run it. In 3rd party chat client you will not feel these kind of problem. I mention that virus can effect on 3rd party chat client but they doesn’t loss there user friendly interface. And it works well when your computer have lots of virus.

Yahoo messenger have lots of function but you can get more then yahoo messenger function in 3rd party chat client. For protection, for spam, for chat, for instant message, for voice, for against booter software and much more.

Yahoo messenger is one of the most famous usable instant chat messenger. We all use Yahoo messenger in are daily life but some times we face various attacks from hackers. They attack on us to dominate us but i can say if you are prepare you can dominate anyone attack. As well as i know many of the people come to chat with thinking where they are going. A hacker can dominate you and off-course a hacker can kill your data. May be that data is worth for you. So here we are going to write about some tips to protect you from Yahoo Messenger Hacking.

• Avoid PC To PC  (P2P) file Sharing Through Yahoo Messenger

Be it known or unknown, prefer not to receive any file from your friend unless you know what he is sharing and why. Avoid downloading .exe or .zip files from them as they are more likely to attack your computer or install Trojans without you being aware of it. Never trust a stranger when he asks you to click on any site you haven’t heard of.

• Avoid Clicking on Spam Links

If you were chatting with someone else and suddenly a PM box flashes on the screen with a lucrative offer/interesting site which has a spammy look, don’t click on it. Those websites have a lot of spyware who get silently installed if you go and surf them. Never download a toolbar unless its as authenticated as Yahoo’s or Google’s.

• Use Ignore Option Effectively

Yahoo has an ignore option that lets you ban a person or mark as spam so that he can’t disturb you once again. Use that option effective. Go to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Ignore List. If you want to avoid talking to strangers (which I always recommend)i.e. wanna talk to your buddies only, Check Ignore anyone.. option. That helps you be safe and block on the unwanted and potential hackers from reaching you. See the screen-shot below.

• Use other Yahoo 3rd party Chat Clients

Yahoo Messenger has too many loopholes. It doesn’t have a strong security to block contents either. So, if you want to get rid of spams and porn contents all under one go, then you should go for some popular and secure yahoo chat clients like Yazak, y!supra. You can also go for Yah-Elite and Yam They may not have the same sophisticated GUI or entertainment features but they will increase the security of the chat sessions by many folds.

• Use Newer Versions of Yahoo Messenger

Remember, the more you stay with the older versions and feel lazy to get upgraded, the more you are helping the hackers. Yahoo or any software, brings out these updates not only to extend features but also due to security reasons. A newer version of yahoo messenger 9 is hardly bootable by DoS attack whereas Yahoo Messenger 7 can be booted out or hacked by a script kiddie.

• Don’t download Yahoo Plug-ins from Unauthorized source

Do not ever download a plug-in of Yahoo messenger from any other site however lucrative it be. Plug-ins like these exploit the vulnerability once installed and send your account details to a third party revealing and cracking down your id. So, better be safe than sorry. No?

• Use Proxy if you have a Better Firewall

Yahoo also gives you option to change your proxy. Go to Preferences and hunt down Proxy servers. You will see that you can set your own proxy server so that Yahoo gets redirected through yours giving you a better chance to protect yourself and secure by your network. But if only you have that faith on your network security. You can change it by going to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Connection

• Use Word Filter

You can also use your word Filter in Yahoo messenger. It just discards all the obscene or threatening words by intelligent filtering system if you choose Strong option. But be aware, there may be some times when your own friend can get banned while cursing your jokingly. Word filter is another good option to be within your network and not let some specifically targeted spammers to arrive. It increases security too. You can change it by going to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Chat.

• Be sure to Delete Your Profile after Chatting from a Public computer

Most of the users don’t know about it. Whenever you sign in to yahoo messenger, yahoo makes a profile of yours in the directory Yahoo -> Messenger -> Profiles by the name of your yahoo id. There is an option by default at Yahoo messenger that messages will be saved as long as you are signed in to your account for that session. A good hacker can have access to that file and decrypt it to learn your private conversations.

What you must do if you are sharing a public computer to chat from, is, you can change it by going to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Archive. Change it to No, do not save any of my messages and you are done. Oh don’t forget to delete your profile from Profiles inside Yahoo folder after you sign out.

• Apply Your Common sense and Use a good Antivirus and anti spyware software

Applying your common sense is the least you can do to prevent your account from being hacked. A good anti-virus and anti-spyware always warns you about dangers that you may have overlooked. So its better to have them as well. If you implement the above 9 tips, you won’t need to worry much I gues until you personally hand over your information to the person willing to crack your computer down.

In yahoo messenger 9.0 you wont need to open that cpatcha link in browser. When you click on captcha link it will show you cpatcha in chat room box. And its really good for a yahoo user. You will no gonna face YM disappear problem with Yahoo messenger 9.0.

I am using Yahoo Messenger since 3 years and playing songs in Yahoo chat room is just like wow!!. Many of user use to play songs while chatting. Its a way to entertain to us and others. Mostly i use Windows XP but some times i’ve use Windows vista. And i don’t like to use any kind of mic locker to play songs in Yahoo chat room. I use these steps to play songs in Yahoo Chat.

If you want to play music in Yahoo chat room follow the steps. First bring up your recording devices.

Click your speaker icon and click open Record controls

This will bring up the Sound properties windows Normally Stereo Mix is not showing so you will have to enable it to make it show up. First right click and choose show disabled devices.

Next you will have to choose the stereo mix and right click and enable it.

Your options may be a bit different, if you don’t have Stereo Mix look for Wave or Wave out or What you Hear for Creative cards.

You will have to switch the default device to stereo mix. Click once on stereo mix and then go down and click the set default button.

This will put the green check mark on stereo mix to show that it is the default device.

Set up like this you should be able to play music in room without using mic.
if u do this u wont be able to talk in mic. so get back the mic option just go from ending step to starting step.

So now start playing songs in Yahoo chat room without using any mic locker.

Webcam display image:

To use your webcam to take a display image picture. Pose for your shot, hit the “Take Snapshot” button and wait for the counter to get to 1 – then smile! To use this feature, go to the Yahoo Messenger menu, select “Preferences” and then click the Display Image icon in the toolbar. Click on the “Image” option in the center, then click “Webcam” to take your pic.

Hide display images in your contact list:

On some days, it can seem like none of my friends have a display image. There’s only so often I can look at an anonymous Grey head. So if you like to keep things simple, or just don’t like your friend’s display images, you can hide them on your contact list. Go to the Yahoo! Messenger menu, select “Preferences” and then click the Display Image icon in the toolbar. Then uncheck the “Show display images in my Messenger list” box.

Apple + n keyboard shortcut:

This handy and cool trick brings up a contact search box with auto-filtering, making it easy to find a friend in your list and start a new IM.

Music play (or not):

Go to under preferences > Voice & Calls, you will find a checkbox that says “Pause iTunes during calls”. This is checked by default so if you are grooving when a call comes in, your music will automatically pause. But if you like background tunes while you chat, uncheck it.

Yahoo only allow 300 Bytes of data to be sent in your chat message, if it is over this length your post wont show in the room (You might see it but others wont).

Yahaven Chat Client will check the size of the post and if it exceeds 300 Bytes it will remove items from the post starting with INF tag data (if enabled), followed by Tattoo’s (if enabled), followed by Fade tags (if Fade is on) and Font Settings. If the post is still too long it will be cropped into smaller posts and sent in multiple message’s (maximum of 5)

If you see your tattoo’s missing on some posts, your fades or font settings not showing or your post is sent in multiple lines, Yahaven has adjusted your post in order for it to be accepted by Yahoo! and be displayed in the chat room. So now you know why!

Yahaven Chat Client Font Settings

To make changes to ‘Fonts & Colours’ settings permanent, go to Options>Fonts & Colours and set them there.

Changing your ‘Fonts & Colours’ on the Chat or PM window is temporary (Same as Yahoo! Does).

The reason for this is that it allows you to have different font & colour settings for each PM window you open and also different fonts and colours in the Chat room

Removing all Settings

There are two ways you can remove settings for Yahaven.

• Remove All Settings.
• Remove Settings For Individual User names.

To REMOVE ALL SETTINGS for Yahaven Chat Client, You can run the uninstaller and then re-install Yahaven. Which will delete all the settings.

To REMOVE SETTINGS FOR INDIVIDUAL USER NAMES, open the Main Window (The one with your friends list on it) and go to ‘File>Manage User names and Settings’ from there you can select which user name to delete the settings for, or you can import your settings from a different user name which will overwrite any existing settings you may have.

Auto Complete ID

For auto complete type the first letter or couple of letters of the user’s ID and hit the tab key. If another ID begins with the same letters simply hit tab again until you get the ID you want, thanks.

You can also hold down Ctrl and click their ID in the user list.

Captcha

Some Users have experienced problems with the Captcha routine with either the image not loading or submitting the Captcha code.

There are several options available which deal with the Captcha routine. You can load the Captcha either…

• As Image Only – Shows only the Captcha Code Image (Default Setting).
• As Webpage – Shows the whole Captcha web page.
• None – No window opens and will by default show the Captcha link in the room.

If you experience problems with the Captcha routine I would recommend using the option ‘Show Captcha as Webpage’ To do this go to Options>Miscellaneous Options and select the option as highlighted below.

You can also use the option ‘Show Captcha Link In Room’ which will require you to click on the link and will open the Captcha webpage in you default browser. If you use this option and do not wish for the Captcha window to open select the option Show Captcha ‘None’. I hope this helps if you are experiencing any problems with the Captcha routine.
